Certified Training & Facilitation Specialist (CTFS-CAP)-Self Paced

The Certified Training & Facilitation Specialist (CTFS) Certification Program is a practical, internationally recognized course that equips professionals to design, deliver, and improve impactful training. It covers adult learning psychology, instructional design, facilitation, engagement, and impact measurement. Participants learn to transform training into strategic organizational capability, using modern methods, data-driven insights, and interactive techniques.

The Certified Training & Facilitation Specialist (CTFS) is a comprehensive professional certification designed to develop trainers, facilitators and learning professionals who can manage the complete learning and performance-improvement cycle.

Effective professional training requires considerably more than subject knowledge or confident presentation. A competent trainer must be able to investigate performance problems, determine whether training is the right intervention, define measurable outcomes, design evidence-informed learning experiences, facilitate diverse groups, manage resistance, support workplace application and demonstrate the value created by learning.

The CTFS programme addresses these requirements through twelve interconnected modules organised around the STAGE Model. The programme begins by establishing the professional identity of the modern trainer and the learning-science principles that govern adult learning. Participants then progress through five applied phases: diagnosing performance gaps, targeting measurable outcomes, architecting effective learning experiences, guiding learners through participation and practice, and evidencing behavioural and organisational change.

Throughout the programme, participants work with practical frameworks such as PROVEN, RELATE, PROBE, SHARP, BUILD, VOICE, SPACE, MATCH, CRAFT, PAUSE, PROOF and CHART. These frameworks create a shared professional language and help participants convert learning principles into repeatable workplace practices.

The programme emphasises application, observation, reflection and evidence. Participants are expected to produce practical outputs—including needs-analysis findings, learning objectives, session plans, facilitation demonstrations, training materials, evaluation plans and learning-analytics recommendations. Successful participants will therefore be equipped not only to deliver training, but also to design, facilitate, evaluate and continuously improve learning interventions that address genuine organisational needs.

The CTFS programme aims to:

  • Develop the professional identity, credibility and ethical judgement required of a modern training and facilitation specialist.
  • Build participants’ ability to operate as performance consultants, relationship partners, learning designers, facilitators, evaluators and enablers of workplace transfer.
  • Apply adult-learning principles, learning psychology, cognitive-load management, retrieval practice and psychological safety to professional learning interventions.
  • Enable participants to diagnose performance gaps systematically and determine whether training or a non-training intervention is required.
  • Develop measurable learning and performance objectives that are aligned with identified organisational needs.
  • Apply backward-design principles to connect desired outcomes, assessment evidence, content, activities and learning methods.
  • Design structured, inclusive and application-focused training programmes that progressively build workplace capability.
  • Select instructional methods and activities based on learning level, audience characteristics, available resources, risk and feedback requirements.
  • Strengthen professional presentation, communication, questioning, listening, storytelling and facilitation capabilities.
  • Equip participants to manage resistance, conflict, disengagement, dominant behaviour and other difficult facilitation situations constructively.
  • Develop the ability to provide criteria-based feedback and coaching that supports practice, reflection and performance improvement.
  • Enable participants to evaluate learning transfer and organisational impact using appropriate evidence, analytics and responsible interpretation.
  • Build participants’ capacity to translate learning data into credible business insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Promote continuous professional practice grounded in ethics, cultural humility, confidentiality, inclusion and duty of care.
